Award at the IWSC

Being a small distillery with limited funds I have to choose which competitions I enter annually very carefully. As I work solo and as such become very bias towards me beautiful gins and their flavours, sending them off to competitions to be blind tasted is not only terrifying but provides amazing unbiased feedback from prestigious judges across the world.

I usually pick a couple of local comps… think magazines, a national comp… our very own NZ spirits awards and one international competition a year. This year I thought I’d give the very hard and prestigious IWSC a nudge. To be awarded anything in this comp is amazing and solidifies an extremely well rounded, smooth and tasty spirit. For my flagship Woolshed gin to receive a bronze (a couple points off a silver) I was so very proud of this. On the world stage of gin awards for a small grassroots distillery single handedly to do this is no mean feet and I feel very honoured to have received this.
